Newborn Photoshoot | Lebanon County, Pa.

Meet William! This sweet little guy came to KCB Photography Studio with his doting mom and dad. Requests for this session included neutral colors along with dark blues. Additionally, William’s parents were interested in using some Christmas props since he was born in mid-November.

I incorporated lots of neutral colors in various textures such as chunky knits, furs, and eyelash fabrics. I feel textures in newborn photos can be just as important as colors. Soft, fluffy textures give visual interest but also add a coziness and warmth to the photos. Props included rustic-inspired baskets and crates. For the holiday-themed images, subtle accessories were included such and sleepy caps, a miniature fur tree, and tiny handheld props including a darling felted candy cane and a tiny plush santa claus prop.

About four weeks prior to a client’s due date, I request that parents fill out a pre-session questionnaire. This is where clients share with me their requests for props, textures, colors and so on. If there is a specific selection that I don’t currently have in the studio, I will make every effort to purchase some item(s) as long as there is time to allow for shipping. For those parents who don’t have specific requests, that’s okay! I’m happy to put together some prop setups and I will always go over them with parents when they arrive for their session. Additionally, the props and accessories are in the studio and visible so clients can see them and make any requests they’d like during the duration of the photoshoot.
